Translated Cirko.V means “Circus Life”. After working through our own values we searched for something that could communicate these and translate into a wine brand and label that reflected our lives. We were particularly inspired by “Cirque Du Soleil”, it is innovative and creative yet very sophisticated in its execution. It is theatrical, expressive and of course entertaining but makes you think and wonder.

Our wine is for the adult who still finds a certain sense of magic in a good old fashioned three ringed circus.

Cirko.V wines are hand-made, French style wines of limited release which reflect sophistication, innovation and creativity to be enjoyed with food amongst friends.

The Markwood Vineyard
The King River runs approximately due North in a narrow fertile valley known as the King Valley, it works its way through the Oxley Plains until it is joins the Ovens River in Wangaratta. Wine grapes have been grown on the Oxley Plains since last century, with the Brown family operating their well known winery at Milawa since 1889. It is here in Markwood between Beechworth and the Milawa Gourmet Region that you will find our small vineyard. The fruit for Cirko V wines comes from this vineyard.

The Markwood vineyard has deep alluvial yellowish brown sandy light clay soils due to being planted on these flood plains and is proving to be a site that can produce top quality fruit. The vineyard has already won some prestigious wine awards, especially for the Redbank “The Widow Jones” 2004 Viognier.

Bright sunny days provide long ripening hours for the grapes, and cool breezy nights allow the vines to de-stress.

The techniques employed in the vineyard are based on a minimal management strategy for the vines allowing them to take advantage of their natural environment and grow to their potential as deemed by Mother Nature.
